puellapaschalis
The female dies after laying her eggs? Awwwwww. Better than devouring the male I guess. That idea gives me the shivers. But then you have octopuses, don't you? All those months of swirling fresh water over your babies, and you've more or less starved to death at the end of it *zucht* Love and prayers, PP

isilzha
Couple weeks ago I was out in our garden watering and a stray cat jumped out and ran off from under our sunflowers. Yesterday I was picking tomatos and I saw a mouse running around near our flowers, I screamed and I had to have the dogs come back there with me to protect me as I picked up the tomatos I dropped. But had I seen that I'm pretty sure I would have passed out.
Tindomiel
I didn't even realize that you had a picture till I read the later comments. Ahh, the benefits of using dial-up. It was quite convenient in this case, though... my arachnaphobia runs to the point of lunacy.
goldbug16
I saw a huge spider today as well. It was huge and black and hairy and gross.

SeekingHisPlan
I've got one of those that lives on my front porch. The kids caught it and put it in a jar. They would let it crawl up and down their arms, it is very docile like a taranchula. It escaped from its jar about two weeks ago. It didn't go far, it spun a web about 4 feet from where the jar was.
Tarantulas are docile? You learn something new every day! Of course, I don't imagine I'd get close enough to one to find out. They freak me out!

Piccoli Fiori JMJ
Yep, they can bite, but their poison doesn't have any affect on us humans. Apparently they are active about this time in August in Illinois... They like tall weeds (or a bunch of overgrown irises) I have more pictures, anyone want to see?
