I found one exactly like that a few weeks ago in my shrubs (I almost started a thread about it, too. :hehehe: ) I did a quick internet seach and found out that they are harmless (in spite of their size) They are good because they kill mosquitoes and other pests.

I also learned that the female spins the spirally part of the web and the male does the zigzag part. :)

I've got one of those that lives on my front porch. The kids caught it and put it in a jar. They would let it crawl up and down their arms, it is very docile like a taranchula. It escaped from its jar about two weeks ago. It didn't go far, it spun a web about 4 feet from where the jar was. :)
