homeschoolmom
I found one exactly like that a few weeks ago in my shrubs (I almost started a thread about it, too. ) I did a quick internet seach and found out that they are harmless (in spite of their size) They are good because they kill mosquitoes and other pests. I also learned that the female spins the spirally part of the web and the male does the zigzag part.

OLAM Dad
I've got one of those that lives on my front porch. The kids caught it and put it in a jar. They would let it crawl up and down their arms, it is very docile like a taranchula. It escaped from its jar about two weeks ago. It didn't go far, it spun a web about 4 feet from where the jar was.
