I committed sacrilege

Cathurian

Recommended Posts

I know I don't come around here much anymore, it's because I feel really un-Catholic next to the lot of you, but I really need some prayers if you wouldn't mind giving some to someone who only seems to drop in with problems.

I committed sacrilege today. I stole the Tabernacle key out of the sacristy, stole a host, and committed the worst sacrileges I could think of. Too bad to mention on PM.

I've already been to confession but I still feel like divine wrath is going to smite me any second, or that God hates me now. I mean seriously. Who would EVER allow someone to do the things I did and get away with just a confession and some purgatory?

If you want to know the details for whatever reason, or just talk to me, my contact info is at the bottom.

I just want to make it up to Him somehow.

Honestly.... I am at a loss for words... know that you will be in my prayers. That is the best thing I can offer--words are nothing compared to the power of prayer.

Cathurian, you have been, and continue to be in my prayers. If you ever need to talk, please know that we are here for you. And know, more importantly, that Christ is always with you as well and longs to speak with you regardless of anything you've done.

Cath,

I'm suffering a great deal these days and I want you to know that I am offering up that suffering for you.

I know that mere words cannot comfort your anguish, but perhaps meditating on these words that Christ speaks to our heart through scripture will bring you some peace. He is ALWAYS there welcoming us to HIS HEART.

I THIRST for YOU!

You are a precious child of God, even when you feel as if you are the most unloveable creature. Even on your worst day when you've committed sins against His precious heart He still would die for you. That is how much Christ loves you.

Cathurian, first know that I will be praying for you. Then, no matter what it is that you have done, you went to Confession, it seems to me that you are sincerely sorry for what you have done, and God has forgiven you: as hard as it is, try to forgive yourself and grow closer to Jesus. A while back someone gave me some sentence prayers to say, and I think they may help you. It is a starting place: try to grow closer daily to Christ through your prayers. I think it would help you a lot if you went to Adoration when you can: it is amazing what Jesus can do for us through the Eucharist, and I think devoting yourself to Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist would be a great way to help you forgive yourself of whatever it is that you have done. Here are the prayers:

-Lord, may You increase and I decrease.
-Lord, You are everything and I am nothing: fill my nothingness with Your everything.
-Lord, please love me, heal me, deliver me.
-Lord, I am weak: strengthen me
----I am dumb: enlighten me
----I am wounded: heal me
----I am broken: fix me
-Lord, I believe: help my unbelief!
-Jesus, I love You: I trust You: have mercy on us.
-Lord, You are the Creator: I am the creature
----You are the Master: I am ther disciple
----You are the Redeemer: I am the sinner
----You are the potter: I am the clay
-Come Spirit of Truth! (Veni Spiritus Veritatis!)
-Lord, that I may see! (Domine, ut videam!)
-Come Holy Spirit: come through Mary
-Lord Jesus, cover me with Your Blood: hide me in Your wounds
-Lord, I worship You, I adore You, I love You:
-------I beg Your Mercy on those who do not worship, adore, and love You:
-------I beg You to help me worship, adore, and love You more and more.

Also, try praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, invoking the Lord's Divine Mercy. I'm praying for you, and so are many other people!

May God bless and protect you always in all of your endeavors!

Your Brother in Christ,

Joe

Cathurian, you are not a bad person, but a person swims more. All the people we have the capacity to do good and evil, this in our human nature.
God is not an avenger, is a generous father that loves us and he accepts us as we are, that always forgives to whom repent.
You have to look at in your interior because this has occurred And it tries to be better person, with God and with your brothers. Praying signifies to speak with God, speech with God, speech with God and you relate that feel it, you have done very well in responding to the confession.
Remember, God is love, a father don't hate to your sons although they offend him.

Only a loving and merciful God would let you get away with this without eternal punishment. The good news is that He is loving and merciful.

If you are a repenetent sinner, then you are more like us than you realize.

Make it up by accepting that He is God and He loves you.

Cathurian,

I can only but say again what others have said. God loves you, no matter what. God's love for you and for all His creation is Unconditional.

If you have gone to confession and are truly sorry, then be at Peace! Do not let the consequences or the voice of the temptor smell of elderberries you in.

God Loves you. Period. Unconditionally. He always has and He will always.

Come and see. He Loves you.

May God God Bless you!

First, ask yourself, "Why?" "Why would I do this?" Then, get help.

Obviously, confession is necessary, but this is a BIG deal: Talk, pray, cry to God, -literally pour your heart-out and tell him EVERYTHING- and beg him to give you grace to be the person HE wants you to be through this and then assign yourself penances! Yes, you may take-on your own penances (throughout your life) to attone for what you did today. Allow God to utilize you in this way. He may in fact, have allowed you to do this, so that in learning the deep offense you committed against him, you would do an immeasurable amount of good in assuring him of your love throughout the rest of your life, thereby helping yourself and many others.

During all this you may need counseling -from your priest or try catholictherapists.com

Yes, he does love you and he forgives you. But, now, attempt to love him with your ALL in return!
