A Question I Would Ask To A Feminist...

Ash, you're right. I'm not denying my qualities as a woman. I would love to be a mother and I love being a wife.

What I think is funny is that all the big "W"'s on the IWFL site are red and everything else is white so that the "W" standing for 'women" is the first thing you see.

I totally agree with MrsFrozen (of course...)

But I do have to say that the name "Liberty Belles" is pretty catchy. :D

I wonder if they will televise some games since they're season is March through June?:unsure:

For me being a feminist means that women who have to work receive equal pay and rights at work for doing an equal job to that of men. I don't ask for more, but it's not fair that I should receive less simply because I'm a woman. I have no choice but to work - if I don't work, I don't eat.

However, I disagree with those feminists who denigrate the role of a wife and mother. I think that's probably the most difficult job on earth..........that's why I never complain about the difference in tax which I pay (substantially more) to that of married people (both of whom might be working), or the allowances that are paid for children here in the UK.

Some feminists argue that women who choose to be a wife and mother should be paid a wage for doing so!

I agree. I think that feminism which recognizes women as human beings of equal worth and dignity as men is good feminism. Bad feminism is the kind that says you have to deny everything that makes you a woman and pretend you are a man. Did you ever think about the fact that so many abortions and all this birth control has come from the idea that being equal means not giving birth -- just like men do(n't). Women do have more rights nowadays, but a what cost? It seems like we've degraded the role and qualities of women in order to climb up to what we view as the role of men and demanded theirs.

I really don't care about football, to be perfectly honest. I never really liked it.

If someone wants to start a pro football league for women, that's their prerogative, and I'm not going to stop them. You definitely won't see me playing football anytime soon, though.

Just as it is with the WNBA, the WNFL won't get the same kind of media attention as the NFL...the WNFL championship won't be like the Super Bowl...it's not going to mean the same thing to advertisers and football fans, and it's not going to make much money.

and as much as people say that money doesn't matter, and it's all about having fun and being a good sport...in the world of pro sports, it's all about profit and advertising and getting corporate sponsors...and sponsoring the WNFL would be kind of like sponsoring some new sitcom with some ex Seinfeld character...it's just not worth it.

I agree with you. I am very happy to be a woman, and I would never try to make myself into a man.. I think that strange! I do think I should earn the same wage as a man if I can do the job just as well. However, I would never expect to earn money for being a stay-at-home mom and wife, because that money would come from the taxpayers, and I would feel like I were taking a handout.

God bless! :)
