But a lump of diamond, that's good. Carbon's carbon.
I agree. Some don't seem to. Anyone know a reputable site to look for synthetic diamonds engagement rings? prose
Exactly. I need to stop thinking that I need to justify myself to others. Created diamonds would be fine. How reasonable do you mean?
The ring I posted was selling on Ebay for like 75 bucks. They are pretty reasonable. Anthony
How about a mood ring? That way during arguments you can tell exactly how she's feeling.
Heck, why don't you just purchase one of those 25 cent rings from the machines at your local grocery store! Just Kidding! Seriously though, I would look into a pawn shop. I'm sure you can find something within your budget.
Laudate_Dominum
IMHO, this is a once in a lifetime thing and if you have even a trace of a credit rating it might be worth it to go all out. You may find that many jewelers would be eager to give you a line of credit. Or maybe... *thinking*... do you have any jewelery in the family? I've heard of people having a fancy engagement ring that sort of runs in the family. I think it would be romantic to pass on the engagement ring that ones grandmother wore, and her grandmother, etc.. Just a couple random ideas.. probably not that helpful, but I try.
Well, I have no credit and neither Jen nor I see the point in spending that much money on a ring (I mean, maybe we're a couple of Judases, but couldn't that money be better spent?). As for the inheritance thing...well, I'm going to see if my mom will give us the 1/4 kt diamond ring she won in a contest as a teenager...or else I can get Jen's mother's engagement ring, but that might also be difficult. homeschoolmom
A caveat on the using an inherited ring: Unless the person whose ring you are receiving is decessed, DON'T change the setting. Have it sized if you need to, but be really careful about changing it-- especially if it's a sentimental ring. (Winning in a contest probably isn't too sentimental). People have a way of saying, "Oh go ahead and reset it" only to later wish they hadn't.

If I could find a ring like that with one of those metals, I'd be all over it.

kateri05
are you sure micah? cuz my skin is pretty snobby (i mean sensitive too and even silver makes me break out, but platinum wouldn't. most metal allergies are because of the nickel content, which i'm pretty sure platinum doesn't use. does jennie have something different? just tryin to help!
I'd ask her about the platinum Micah. She may be ok with it. Sometimes when we gals say things like that we're talking aboout nickel or other cheap metals that costume jewelry is made of....(I'm NOT inferring you're buying costume jewelry btw). Also, check the listing on ebay. Sellers often say that they have the ring in different metals and will also usually have other rings listed as well. Let me know if you need assistance Ok, off to work with me!
