Sojourner
OK, I'm just wondering what y'all think of this. Growing up Protestant, I pretty much exclusively listened to Christian music. The first tape I bought was Ace of Base, I believe the album was "The Sign" and my parents took it and hid it, eventually throwing it away. Now, I fall into the "rarely listen to Christian music" category, mainly because I think I became saturated with sappiness and can't do it anymore. I do have a few groups I really enjoy -- independent folksy types.
immaculata
I went through a big Christian music phase.. I honestly couldn't tell you any of the popular secular songs from 1998-1999. Then I got to high school, and my friends introduced me back into the world of secular music. I still listen to my CCM every once in awhile, though............................. Gotta love DC Talk - Jesus Freak! :punk:
Sojourner
Gotta love DC Talk - Jesus Freak! Oh, yeah, that's the best! I totally love that CD -- none of their other ones were as good. I'm going to have to find mine and listen to it now ... I'm sure it's around here somewhere

PyroPenguinX07
I occasionally listen to Christian music but its not all the same stuff. Sometimes its church music such a David Haas or Marty Haugen other time its more up beat like Jars of Clay and Mercy Me.

bookofjohn
I seldom listen to "Praise and Worship" music, if I do it would be Hillsongs or Hosanna Music! I listen most often to JarsOfClay(all time fav: "Faith Like a Child"), MercyMe(I love "Nails in Your Hands"), sometimes TAIT("All yiou got") and of course WOW Worship compilations! ^_^ BookOfJohn Edited January 6, 2004 by bookofjohn
jrndveritatis
Some Christian bands you might want to check out are Kutless and Pillar. As for secular music, Linkin Park rocks.
cathgirl
I don't listen to Christian music on the radio very much...actually I don't really ever listen to the radio unless I'm in a car. My favorite cd is probably Michael O'Brien Sounds of Medjugorje. Have you guys ever heard of him? He has the best sounding voice I have ever heard. The songs are really beautiful

Mary's Knight, La
i used to not listen to much christian music cuz of the "sappiness" but now very few secular songs won't make me want to throw up from the content

Sojourner
i used to not listen to much christian music cuz of the "sappiness" but now very few secular songs won't make me want to throw up from the content Yeah, I went through a phase where I listened to a lot of stuff with pretty crappy content that I'm actually now embarrassed to admit that I liked. For a couple of weeks, I've been listening to Cat Stevens while getting ready in the morning. :D I also like Over the Rhine (they're Christians), Hem, Jack Johnson, U2 ... the list could go on for a while, but that's a sample. BLAZEr
I am not a big fan of Christian music. I listen to it, but usually I wish they would be able to write a song, a beautiful song, about something I feel deep in my heart and it not say "Jesus" every 5th word . . . I love Jesus, but I don't have to say his name all the time to love him, or to praise him. As far as I'm concerened U2 does a pretty good job at being a Christian band. GodsGrace
ok I put all christian all the time, but really it's a majority of my listening. I mean I still listen to things like Daniel Bedingfeld and Linkin Park, and Hoobastank but there's also wow worship, Audio Adrenaline, Switchfoot, Mercy Me, DC Talk, Nicole Nordeman, and 90.5 Spirit Fm all over my musi life.....so yea....anyways that's me!
