Charlotte Church has whipped up a storm of controversy by appearing as a drug-taking nun and calling the Pope a “Nazi” in her new TV show.

The singer performed a range of outrageous stunts for a pilot of her new Channel 4 talk show, such as smashing open a statue of the Virgin Mary to reveal a can of cider and eating a communion wafer emblazoned with a ecstasy smiley face and pretending to hallucinate.

As well as branding the Pope a “Nazi” – despite performing for Pope John Paul II when she was an angelic 12-year-old – she called painfully thin actress Keira Knightley “a scrawny bird” and labelled Posh Spice Victoria Beckham "as thick as two short planks".

:o

I used to like her, but I'm tempted to throw out her CDs for those remarks. That's really sad, although it's not so surprising, considering the direction she took after her first couple CDs.... >:(

I believe she was raised a Catholic, though. :(

Another one selling her soul for worldy "success".

exactly, LSW! what a better way to get publicity for your new tv show than to mock the old stand-bys of the Virgin Mary, the Eucharist, and the Pope.

Instead of just throwing them out, send them back to her with your remarks and regards.

That's the stance Rock For Life takes, and surprisingly, it seems to work. or at least has in the past.

Birgitta Noel

Call your local PBS station now and tell them not to run any more Charlotte Church pledge specials. She'll hear that if PBS stops buying her shows!

:maddest:

God Conquers

Charlotte Church is a loser.

Her music is no good anymore and she makes terrible decisions. I feel bad for her.

And to think I bought her album recently just because she sang Tantum Ergo on it.

Yuck. I am going to send it to her. Broken. I was hoping to take that one with me to the monastery. Anybody know the address?

tempted to throw it away?

I would get rid of that kind of trash without thinking twice. I used to really love her singing. This makes me sick.

:weep: What do you even say to something like that?

Even performed for Pope John Paul the Great... :ohno:

This sickens me.
