let_go_let_God
As a general rule I don't wear my scapular when ever I'm swimming or going to be in water, do any of you wear your scapular when you go swimming? God bless- LGLG

God bless- LGLG
That would be weird. I don't wear my scapular swimming, showering or while I'm doing any sort of physical activity (like durnig gym class and lifting.) Beside that I wear them all the time.
Fides_et_Ratio
I take mine off when I shower/swim only because I don't want it to smell or get moldy, etc.
Tindomiel
I'm always worried that it'd get lost if I wore it swimming.
FutureSoror
I used to, and I know people who do... but it tends to fall off a lot swimming, and if you bring it in the shower you might want to have two so you don't have to wear it when it's wet. let_go_let_God
I haven't been wearing my scapular swimming or in the shower, but I just kinda started to wonder about wearing it in the water. Thanks for the answers. God bless- LGLG
Domine ut Videam
I never used to...........but then i thought to myself...... why do i really wear a scapular? What if i were to drown while swimming? I mean honestly, out of all of the things that i do in my life, swimming is probably the most dangerous thing that i do. So, i wear it now. -Yours in Christ Lauren

I can't think of a time I ever take it off. God Bless, -uruviel
Tony
they do make medal scapulars for when you are in the water and stuff like that (they are approved by the Church too)
zunshynn
Do you really think that the graces of the scapular would be denied to you if you had taken the scapular off while swimming so it wouldn't get messed up and you drowned?
uruviel
hah, no, I just never had a real reason to take it off. I don't think of it as a SHEILD and without it I will go to hell, I just love the devotion behind it and I don't have a reason to remove it.
That's what I was saying to myself. it's not the little scap of fabric that mediates the graces (even though it may be a sacramental). I don't really think it matters if you take it off while swimming or whatever, just so that you understand what the scapular really is.
