As a general rule I don't wear my scapular when ever I'm swimming or going to be in water, do any of you wear your scapular when you go swimming?

That would be weird. I don't wear my scapular swimming, showering or while I'm doing any sort of physical activity (like durnig gym class and lifting.)

Beside that I wear them all the time.

I used to, and I know people who do... but it tends to fall off a lot swimming, and if you bring it in the shower you might want to have two so you don't have to wear it when it's wet.

I haven't been wearing my scapular swimming or in the shower, but I just kinda started to wonder about wearing it in the water. Thanks for the answers.

I never used to...........but then i thought to myself......

why do i really wear a scapular? What if i were to drown while swimming? I mean honestly, out of all of the things that i do in my life, swimming is probably the most dangerous thing that i do. So, i wear it now.

I never take it off really. Sometimes I think, what if I drowned when I was swimming? lol, I shower, swim, do sports, and everything else in it. I can't think of a time I ever take it off.

they do make medal scapulars for when you are in the water and stuff like that (they are approved by the Church too)

Do you really think that the graces of the scapular would be denied to you if you had taken the scapular off while swimming so it wouldn't get messed up and you drowned?

hah, no, I just never had a real reason to take it off. I don't think of it as a SHEILD and without it I will go to hell, I just love the devotion behind it and I don't have a reason to remove it.

exactly.

I hope I would get props for wanting to keep my sacramental fresh and pretty.

That's what I was saying to myself. it's not the little scap of fabric that mediates the graces (even though it may be a sacramental). I don't really think it matters if you take it off while swimming or whatever, just so that you understand what the scapular really is. :)
