Ellenita
OK, I'm posting this question here because I know it may create argument in the Debate area which I don't want, and I know that only a few people can post in here! Is there dispute over Vatican II, with some Catholics not accepting that changes that were made as a result of it? If so, are these people still considered (or consider themselves) under the authority of the Pope? Thank you!
Pontifex
There are those that oppose Vatican II completely but stay because they know they are in the one true Church. There are those that oppose Vatican II that leave the Church for a Schism. There are those who see the Vatican Council as the movement of the Holy Spirit as with all councils, which is the category we should fall into. Most people that struggle with "VII" are really struggling with a poor interpetation and implementation of those changes. Many Church leaders have done things in the name of Vatican II without really every taking the time to read the documents. Vatican II was a wonderful thing, and it is another step in the growth of the Church. But it has been abused. Peace
