cathoholic_anonymous
Hmm...could you pretend to see Mary for twenty years if you had genuinely had a vision of her? Would she even appear to people who are capable of lying about her?
JJMG2001
oops I think I voted that I believe in them on accident. When I found out "Mary said" all religions are equal I grew skeptical but I recently saw what the local bishop and benedict thought about them and now I pretty certian. It's too bad the Medjigoure conference at ND is usually pretty good.
im going there for the youth festival, I leave this coming week july 26, its pretty cool how our youth group is going. I have heard so many miracles that have oocured there so i think i believe, i tell you all bout it when i return or while im there! Claudine
I think the local bishop has asked people to stop making pilgramages there.
I really do not know. I've read the message in which (the supposed) Mary talks about other religions. It does not sound like she is calling them all equal in truth. It sounds like she is saying that sincere seekers from other faiths will not be disappointed when they die. Basically, the Catechism says the same thing. I don't see anything at odds with Catholicism in (the supposed) revelations.
Is that what she means when she supposedly said this "Locutionist Jelena Vasilij: "The Blessed Mother has said: 'Tell everyone that it is you who are divided on earth. The Moslems and the Orthodox for the same reason as Catholics, are equal before my Son and me.'" However it just don't she Mary saying this: Question: "Is the Blessed Mother calling all people to be Catholic? Seer Vicka Ivankovic: "No. The Blessed Mother says all religions are dear to her and her Son." (Janice T. Connell, The Visions of the Children, The Apparitions of the Blessed Mother at Medjugorje, St. Martin's Press, August 1992) Edited July 22, 2006 by JJMG2001

Fides_et_Ratio
Are they still going on... after the bishop's homily/request, I mean? I posted the article (and homily, I think) in the thread I made "Bishop Says Medjugorje Apparitions are Divisive". But, the bishop requested that, as a show of obedience, the visionaries stop with the apparitions. Has this been addressed by the visionaries at all? I keep looking for more news but haven't been able to find anything. I think this will be very telling of their authenticity either way. If they do stop at the bishop's request, I'll have to look a bit harder into the Apparitions. If they're continuing, then my conscience says my initial skepticism was correct... Jaime
MEDJUGORJE-PULJIC Jul-24-2006 (320 words) xxxi Cardinal says commission to review alleged apparitions at Medjugorje By Cindy Wooden Catholic News Service VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Cardinal Vinko Puljic of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, announced a commission would be formed to review the alleged Marian apparitions at Medjugorje and pastoral provisions for the thousands of pilgrims who visit the town each year. "The commission members have not been named yet," Cardinal Puljic told Catholic News Service in a July 24 telephone interview. "I am awaiting suggestions from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith" on theologians to appoint. "But this commission will be under the (Bosnian) bishops' conference" as is the usual practice with alleged apparitions, he said. The cardinal said he did not expect the commission to be established until sometime in September because of the summer holidays. He said the primary task of the commission would be to review a 1991 report from the region's bishops that concluded, "It cannot be affirmed that these matters concern supernatural apparitions or revelations." In addition, he said, the commission would be asked to review pastoral provisions that forbid official diocesan and parish pilgrimages to Medjugorje, while at the same time allowing priests to accompany groups of Catholics in order to provide the sacraments and spiritual guidance. When asked if the new commission was the idea of the doctrinal congregation or of the bishops' conference, Cardinal Puljic said, "I would rather not answer that question." Cardinal Puljic announced the future formation of the commission during the bishops' July 12-14 meeting in Banja Luka. On June 25, thousands of pilgrims converged on Medjugorje to mark the 25th anniversary of the first alleged apparition to six young people. The Vatican continues to monitor events at Medjugorje, where the apparitions apparently continue, but it has not taken a formal position other than to support the bishops' ban on official pilgrimages. Officials from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith were not available July 24 for comment. END

Guest pepo1
I credit God for more mercy. I mean if it really is satan sounding 95% real in order to slip in 5% worth of baloney, that must fool a lot of people who don't have access to all the material to make a judgement. Imagine all the simple local Medjugorje peasants who can't even read, let alone clear away all the innuendo, half-truths and outright lies in order to arrive at a reasoned decision. I guess that's the job of the Vatican. So, indeed, let's wait. What I object to is the sensationalist media and people trying to get rich off books that go under such titles as "Medjugorje Exposed". I think these people are responsible for a lot of damage and division, not to mention souls who will die unconverted because they read and believed some of these articles, which clearly contain falsehoods. For example, nearly all of them that I've read take Mary's statement about the equality of people in different religions completely out of context in a deliberate effort to make it sound heretical, when it is nothing of the sort. http://www.marian-times.com answers a lot of objections brought up by these sections of the media and exposes outrageous and deliberate lies told by sections of the media trying to destroy Medjugorje. It will open many people's eyes.
Jasvon
If the apparitions of Medjugorje were demonic, don't you think the Chief Exorcist of Rome would be able to discern this? Budge
You all realize what this particular apparition has taught do you not? I believe all the apparitions are NOT from heaven and are demonic in nature. This is more of the end time delusions of Rome.
