Norseman82
Please keep in mind that annulments do take time and there is no guarantee that the annulment will be granted.
Mary-Kathryn
I'm not. I'm only 12 (13 next tues). My aunt is living in sin and so that she can be saved and recieve Communion my parents are paying for her annulment from her previous marrige. They need to know how much it costs.
What your aunt needs to do is first get in contact with her priest. He will counsel her and begin the steps to the paperwork that needs to be done. Here in my diocese, no one is turned away if they cannot pay. However, they do ask a certain price and ask that those who can pay to do so.... It's like any other office that needs to pay employees, overhead, and all that good stuff.
prose
Okay, this may sound weird, but it doesn't seem to me like she even cares that she has an annulment or not. And can you even be sure it was an invalid marriage to begin with? Afterall, it isn't like a Catholic Divorce. There had to be circumstances there preceding the marriage in the first place that made it invalid. I know a woman who had chosen not to have communion for many many years because the Church would not annul her marriage. So be careful about this. You very likely don't know the circumstances going into the marriage, and more likely have only seen what has happened coming out of the marriage. Not to mention, it is a lot of work, and the ex needs to be contacted also. My sister had an annullment after 5 years of "marriage" and it took almost 2 years to complete everything.
