Az, next time they ask you about why you're nursing Danielle again "already" tell 'em its called "feeding on demand"! lol Adrienne was the same way--I think most babies are. Their tummies are tiny and can't hold much so they get hungry fast. I think its actually better for them when they're as little as Danielle to nurse on demand rather than to have a schedule. As they grow they'll develop their own sort of schedule, or you can gradually move into a certain schedule that works best for you.

Adrienne was a grazer when it came to feeding, every now and then she'd nurse for a good long time, but alot of times she'd only go for about 5 minutes and stop, but 10 minutes later she'd want more. Eventually she got into a little bit more of a regular pattern instead of the nutty every 10 minutes thing. Now she has a fairly regular eating pattern, she also eats babyfood and cereal, but if she wants to nurse I let her. She's also picky about what side she's on. She has a favorite side, so sometimes it can be a pain to get her to switch, so often I'll let her have her way and then keep her on the side she likes less at night when she wakes for night feedings and tends to be less picky.

Thanks guys. You don't know how much your words mean to me.

:hearts:

Nursing is getting easier. My friends, well, they'll get over it. They just don't have the experience so they don't know. My cousin has nursed her two lil ones, and she has been a tremendous help (she echoed much of what you just said Katie).

Cmom - I think that's one of my biggest problems, is that I'm still trying to exist in real time instead of baby time. Learning to let go and take the time to be in the moment is what I'm trying to do right now.

Especially while Daddy is holding baby girl. :)

You'll get used to it. Its only been 10 days. ;) Eventually you'll become the amazing one armed mom, holding Danielle and doing everything else at the same time. Except cooking, of course. Pretty soon you'll exist only in baby time, so when daddy comes to talk to you you don't even notice for a minute and you have to get out of baby zone and have him repeat himself. lol

Now I have to figure out how NOT to go back to work. :) But, at least I've got 3 months off ... I know it will go quickly ... but it is more time than a lot of new moms get and I'm going to make the most of it.

Fortunately, I've already lined up my cousin to take care of Danielle when i return, and hopefully, my new assignment will involve working from home.

Pheww. Life changes so much. So very much. In such a good way. An amazing way.

bump for Anna!

Thank you, Az!

What an adorable baby. And I couldn't resist reading all four pages of praises and advice.

It's all good!

So, when is the baptism? Gotta get this little cutie into the Church!!!!!!!

Pax Christi. <><

hopefully soon. I put a call in on Friday, and I'm waiting for a call back. If I don't hear in a couple of days, I'll be calling back.

I'll have some new pics up soon. Promise.

Demand Much? lol

I've got to get the pics resized before I can post.

Until then, Danielle is doing well. She reminds me of a lil bird. She is just now topping out at just over 6 pds. Just a lil squirt.

And she sounds like a veloci-raptor when she's mad. LOL
