aquamarine Posted January 3, 2004 Share Posted January 3, 2004 The google fights are just for fun, but 'google wars' are real - that's when competing entities solicit large groups of 'net users to perform google searches on their particular institution or company along with a combination of appropriate keywords so their company comes up first on a google results page. Just recently, someone got a ton of people to type in the official White House url along with the keyword "moron", or something equally or even more insulting. As a result, whenever you type in that key word, the White House site comes up first...
