Transcendence vs Immanence

I've read Apotheoun's work on this topic as it relates to Diviine Essence/Energies. Based on this, it seems God is both trascendent and immanent to/in His created universe. I realize that's a gross simplification, but despite that do I have it right?

Thx.

Yep. This is in Roman Catholic and Eastern Catholic theology, although there are different ways of approaching the matter. :)

Like L_D said, the same idea is expressed or approached in different ways depending on whether or not you are talking about it from a Western or Eastern theological tradition, but the substance of what you are saying is correct. St. Anselm has some good stuff to say about it in his Monologion, when he discusses how God can be in every place and every time AND be in no place and no time (the former having to do with God's Immanence, the latter with His Transcendence). :D:

Your Brother In Christ,

Jeff
