Circle_Master
What would more grace give? I am saved, and I am being sanctified by the Holy Spirit's work through me.
mulls
i think that sanctification is actually the bestowing of more grace. like you are sanctified more through the sacraments. just a guess, am i close?
cmotherofpirl
Absolutely!!! Because God is infinite, He can't run out of graces to give us.
hopeful1
let's just agree that no matter what side you're on, catholic or protestant, we could always have more grace, especially when it comes from God. Hey if it's from God you know it one thing you can never get enough of, right.:thumb: come on guys, let all show some love  :hearts:  :peace:
jasJis
Thank you. You just validated Protestants as having the grace and gracEs of God, without a specific denomination. Case closed. If you read the Catechism, instead of just claiming to have read it, you would have known that Grace exists in all Christian denoms. It's repeated many, many, many, many times. Would you like a 'document dump'? We all have been telling you this again, and again, and again, and again... God's Grace is not just enough, it's overflowing, spilling over, splashing here, there, lot's of areas of our lives. The biggest difference most prots have with Caths is prots are limiting their recognition of Grace.
Circle_Master
The biggest difference most prots have with Caths is prots are limiting their recognition of Grace. which side limiting grace? Catholics because they believe you must have a sacrament for it ? Or protestants because they aren't receiving any for sanctification ? Your statement is a little befuddled
hopeful1
yep. we don't need hostility from either side. Amen to that, cmom

Circle_Master
i was asking him what he meant - his statement was confusing and, I believe that I am stuffed. it is my responsibility to 'yield to the Spirit' which is in me so that I might be 'filled with the Holy Spirit' in my actions and become sanctified throughout life. Not my responsibility to seek more grace so I can be sanctified.
cmotherofpirl
We use words differently. When we are Baptised we are justified, the journey towards eternal salvation is sanctification.
jasJis
Prots are limited in where the think grace is. They might say X and Y and Z. Thats all we need, you and me. Catholics would say A, B, C, D, and ! and % and R2, and let's look around for more. Dude, you can never be to graced. The Big Guy loves to give. I didn't say prots can't be sanctified, they may by Grace. Also, Sacraments are but a FEW of the many ways we recieve graces. Certainly not the only way. CMom is qualified to clarify my statements. She's known me for years and is a knowledgeable Catholic. Or I could have said: "What she said." :D And what's up with this?: Not my responsibility to seek more grace so I can be sanctified. Circle_Master
JasJis - and what's up with this?: Circle - Not my responsibility to seek more grace so I can be sanctified. If I seek grace - doesn't that conclude if I get it then it is merited by my seeking? That negates what grace is - unmerited favor
