Sojourner
CS Lewis is simply known as the great one. Agreed. "Till We Have Faces" is one of the best books ever written.
M.SIGGA
Pastor Donnie McClurkin is amesome and his voice is amesome too! I own all his CDs. Bishop T.D. Jakes from the Potters House in Houston, TX is really amesome too, and on my retreat team I use some of his material to teach my retreat kids. His CDs are cool too. Billy Graham is amesome. I went to his crusade in Atlanta two years ago and it answered a lot of questions I was having about different things that were going on in my life. His son and daughter are really cool too and the light of Christ really shines through in his words. Y'all can't forget MC Hammer and MASE. They are in a 4 way tie w/ Benny Hinn and Creflo Dollar for the most bling.

Hank Hanegraff, the guy that runs the Journal, is pretty staunchly anti-Catholic, but he does have some good stuff going when it comes to general Christian apologetics. The article is a few years old, and I am not familiar with T.D.'s current theology so I can't vouch for whether or not the concerns raised in the article are still valid, but for what it's worth, here ya go. ;)
phatcatholic
ICTHUS, remind me what a Thomist believes? If you could in reference to Calvinism. I myself believe in 4/5 points of Calvinism, I can't agree with limited atonement. If you have an article which describes the beliefs of Thomism I would be interested in reading it as well (if thomism is a word) circle, i believe the "Thomist" view (named after St. Thomas Aquinas) regarding predestination is mentioned in all three of the following articles: --Catholic Predestination --A Tiptoe Through TULIP --Predestination, Salvation, and Damnation: Calvinism and Catholicism Contrasted i hope this helps pax christi, phatcatholic
Aloysius
what about Jack Van Impe! that guy scares me, he knows too much Bible stuff, honestly, he could convince me that the Bible says you gotta spin around three times and touch your nose before the end times or you won't be raptured all from Bible verses! AHHH!! that's y i don't watch him, he's too convincing  lol, and i try to just sit always ready for the Lord expecting but not knowing. hehe. does Mother Angelica count? err. wiat, only fav protestant tv ppl, the Jack Van Impe, but i can't watch him, it isn't good for me. then.. ummm... i kant think of any others that i've actually sat down and watched. except scott hahn, but that's after he became Catholic. Katholikos
Ditto to PedroX's sentiments here, I love Ravi and RC Sproul -- they both have compelling intellectual arguments. Good stuff. When I was a kid, we listened to James Dobson and Focus on the Family a lot, but I haven't listened for years, and my feelings about J.D. are ambivalent at this point. Protestantism was founded on the three "legs" of Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, and Sola Gratia. It is impossible for a Protestant minister not to preach heresy, since his faith -- no matter how well he presents it -- is at least partially false. Protestants have a portion of the truth, the portion they 'borrowed' from the Catholic Church (such as the Trinity), but the full Truth and nothing but the Truth of Christianity subsists in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, which was founded by Jesus Christ. Catholics, don't believe that Bruce S is sincere in this thread. He's a snake, as slithery and treacherous as Satan was in the Garden of Eden. His most admired preacher from Calvary Chapel is extremely anti-Catholic, just as Bruce S is. He wants you to listen, hoping you'll be converted away from the Church. Aloysius
i'm not afraid... and it's not like bruce S convinced me to listen. you see, if someone knows the Bible inside and out, they could proove to me that it teaches anything they want it to teach. if some protestant preacher prooves something to me, that doesn't mean i believe it. i seek out the Catholic answer, and it makes me grow stronger in my faith and my apologetics. u said u like Fr. Mitch Pacwa, BS (lol it's just an abreviation )... yeah he is really kewl. i especially like how he told me the greek for what the Angel Gabriel says to Mary, that it doesn't mean just highly favored, nor even just full of grace, but ALWAYS BEEN FULL OF GRACE. ahhh Fr. Mitch Pacwa is amesome. he's smart, good thing he's not in heresy cuz he could prolly convince me that the Apostles worshipped penguins with his knowledge of tradition and that the Bible teaches the North Poll is heaven with his knowledge of the Scriptures!

JMJ Jay Why did you even post that Katholikos? You obviously believe we have some truth as we agree 100% to the trinity, and some agree to semi-pelagianism. I am finding this thread quite interesting and your arrogance definately doesn't help the atmosphere. Please just 'butt out' so we can talk about 'favorite protestant preachers'.
