Sixtina87
Wow Sister, i could imagine how special your ring is too you. I thought it was interesting how you could put something into the ring.....and the fact that your mother's and Sister's rings was melted to help make your ring. jkaands
Interesting sory about names. In the opera and screen play of Poulenc's "Dialogues of the Carmelites", which takes place during the French Revolution, Blanche de la Force, the shy and fearful child of the aristocracy, desires to enter Carmel, mainly because she thinks that she will be 'safe' there. she has been haunted by fears her entire life. The Reverend Mother, who is in declining health, sees through her ruse immediately. She asks Blanche by what name she wishes to be called. Blanche replys, "Sr. Blanche of the Agony of Christ". The Reverend Mother is very moved, as she herself had the name when she was young. This is not explained. Blanche is admitted and eventually walks fearlessly to the guillotine, along with the others. All are eventually beatified.
HollyDolly
Mine would be either Sister Mary Hilda of the Holy Child Jesus or Sister Mary Emma of St.Francis. Hilda for St.Hilda of Whitby,my name sake in real life, and I have a devotion to the Infant Jesus. Emma for my mother and St.Francis because he loved animals and preached to the birds and the wolf. brendan1104
I guess I would like mine to be Br. and then Fr. Richard Mary of the Holy Face.
hold on, isn't Richard your name now? You usually take a new, Carmelite name... but if Fr. Prior allows it, ok. Remember that he reserves the right to choose/change your selection. Nice title though... : Well... if I enter (God-willing) a community that uses titles... of the (Sacred) Heart of Jesus of the Infant Jesus and the Holy Face of the Blessed Sacrament/Holy Eucharist of the Immaculate Heart of Mary/Our Lady of Mount Carmel Name-wise: if I become a Carmelite: Elias Mary Joseph Mary John Mary Raphael Mary if I become a Dominican: Dominic, Louis, Joseph, Thomas or Vincent with some form of Our Lady's Name- Mary, Marie, Maria.
