Yay the fighting is gone :D

So who can tell me the character of the girls' dorms?
[/quote]
Well, I can't first hand, but I know a few things:

If you want a friendly, more close-knit community with a lot of silly girly activities, I'd go with Marian.

If you want a larger environment with lots of kitchens, a newer building, and special two-story penthouse suites for those who qualify, try St. Thomas More.

If you want a quiet place a little off-campus, but not quite, try Padua, but be warned: there's a bar across the street. The dorm is protected by high fencing, but the RD down there is always concerned about the girls.

As for Clare, I don't really know anything, except that that's where StColette will be this fall...and they have air-conditioning and are generally known for stricter rules...oh, and they're attached through shared lobby space to Kolbe.

I thought there was no more room on the main campus :idontknow: (Not that I want to discourage you or anything). The only reason I got into Clare was because StColette requested me as her roommate.

If you do get into Clare you'll like it. It's nice. :)

Aw, I was thinking about going into my sixth year of Spanish..

....juuuuuust kidding :D

Anybody know exactly how I'm supposed to get all my stuff there? I'd imagine I'm not supposed to just lug everything onto the plane with me, but I don't know how I'm supposed to ship everything out there. My mom thinks I should just wait until I get there and buy everything out there, but I have to remind her that I don't exactly have a car out at Steubenville. =T

You'll probably want to ship your stuff. I had a roommate who did that when she flew from California.

Random question: When did Kolbe/Clare get stricter? I lived in Tommy More my first two years, and then finished with my last year on my household wing on ground floor Clare (BTW, the girls should check out the Roses of the Immaculate Heart...it used to be a big household, but it hasn't since a lot of the girls graduated in 2002...now there are just 4 girls)

Anyway...because Kolbe/Clare is mostly upperclassmen, the rules were always a bit more lax than say they were in Tommy More which has a lot of freshmen. We had later quiet hours, and when it was quiet hours, it was less likely that you'd get written up (actually it was pretty hard to get written up). They also didn't bag up your clothes at the end of the night and put them in storage if they were in the laundry room when the dorm "closed." They might have changed that one since 2003. It's a much quieter dorm, though, because most people are out at night, and they are older so they don't run around screaming or singing.

I did love Tommy More. The community is great. It's a little more outgoing than Marian.

Well, I'm a part of residence life now, so let me be careful. I'll say that the article in the school newspaper calling them Nazis was unfair to the nature of their job, and I'll add that you don't want to break quiet hours...not even by a whisper.
