Confession/gambling

Ok, hears the deal. I know that the bible and the catechism both basically say that gambling, by its self is not a sin. And that it becomes a sin when it is done for the wrong reasons, like greed and those kind of things. I think.

But anyways, I know my parents dont want me to be gamling online and have told me this. And I believe that that would make this a mortal sin, b/c it a sin against on of the 10 comandments.

And, Im gonna be going to confession later today and I will be confessing this sin, along with my others. But anyways, I was just wondering if, everytime I place a wager if it is considered a mortal sin b/c it is not something my parents want me to do or, if it is only considered a mortal sin once and is not something I need to confess as long as it does not become something like an obsession???

I'm not sure the act of gambling is a mortal sin it would be the act of deliberate disobedience of parents that would be sinful, whether it's mortally sinful is another argument.....however if you follow your argument then according to Canon Law you are bound to confess all grevious sins by species (type) and number
