Bruce S
*tap-dances* And now I say, only God knows if you're Catholic where it counts (your heart and soul). Or whether you are ignorant and culpable for that ignorance or not. *tap-dances off stage* OK. I guess that leaves a few hundred million out. *break dancing off stage >>> left*
cmotherofpirl
Hyper, you said earlier that God doesn't punish ignorance. What if the ignorance is deliberate? What if they know what's right but they go against it for the sake of being against it? Ignorant means unknowing of something. Therefore ignorance can't be deliberate. However you can stubbornly refuse to study something because you fear it might be right, and you would have to change your opinion on something. That is cowardice and stupidity. Bruce S
18For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," I'm sure that applies here, only I can't quite figure out who is the Ox here. Hey. Love ya, honestly. You guys are to be commended for being true to your understanding of things, or at least what you are TOLD is your understanding of things. That is admirable. Bruce S
Woah - heated debate. You guys would have a field day in Northern Ireland!!! THIS FORUM **IS*** Northern Ireland. The Paddy's are in the majority however, so we wear Orange proudly and beat the drums while parading, we few Prots.
Ellenita
This forum IS Northern Ireland Do you live in Northern Ireland? If not, please don't joke about it.
Proud Protestant
Im not sure whether you were questioning me or bruce - but I do live in Northern Ireland so I do have first hand knowledge of the conflict here. Please dont joke about it as I dont find it a laughing matter, what I said was serious. I do wear my orange proudly and I do wear the coulours red white and blue- true representatives of theUnited Kingdom. And we do beat the drums and play da flutes!!! :D Feel free to ask me about the conflict, and I dont like the idea of being called "Paddy's" as this usually refers to the South - ie: Ireland. Im not Irish.
Ellenita
I was referring to Bruce S' response. I assumed that he was jokingly equating the debate at Phatmass to the situation in Northern Ireland and felt that only someone who lives there could have the right to do that. (Bruce S, if I was wrong in my interpretation of your post, I apologise) I am filled with sorrow that the peace process is 'stalled' at the moment and acutely aware that my government bears some of the responsibility for that. (I'm British) I pray that God will soften the hard hearts of men and that real healing and reconcilation will take place.
Bruce S
The reference to Northern Ireland was in jest, and linking the stife that sometimes happens here, in Phatmass, Interdenominational forum to that terrible situation. It was not an attempt to bring Northern Ireland into this thread. However, Northern Ireland IS worth discussing, so I started an entirely new thread for that dissection of history. Sorry, if our UK brethern took the allusion wrong, so let's discuss it properly, in a seperate thread.
Proud Protestant
Hiya. Gud idea to set up a northern Ireland thread. paul McCartney should shut his mouth neway - what the hell has he got to do with Northern Ireland - he has no idea of everyday life here. Until he knows what truely happens here and ignores what some of the lies the press print, i dont think he should pass any thoughts like this on.
