Peppermint Patty

Bruce,

Was this really neccasary. Is this how one evangelizes from your denomination?

Is this how the wonderful Holy Spirit works through you? I pray that one day our minds can come to an agreement on one thing, that is Jesus commandment of Love.

Peace and Prayer to yours,

Foundsheep

I still find it interesting you call all of us brothers and sisters. You mentioned a few things before, but I know that I am clearly outside of the Catholic Church, and even the unam sanctum of 1302 says "Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff."

Now, I'm not an english major, or any postgraduate degress in english, but if it is necessary for salvation to be part of something, that excludes any salvation outside of it. Clarification on how you reconcile that with the more modern Church teachings of salvation outside of the Church?

Whats Funny is we've already explained 'Salvation outside of the Catholic Church' to Bruce and Circle many times. No matter how much we tell them what the church teachs, they claim it doesnt teach that. You are telling us what we believe.

Were not going to lie to you about our beliefs. Im not going to explain to you again the sentences you posted Circle, it was already done in another thread somewhere, a few times actually.

If you wanna remain hard headed thats fine. If you dont want to call us brothers and sisters in Christ that is fine too. You are the one with issues my friend. deal with it.

People, even though it may get very agitating at times... we should try and not lose our self-control here. Mulls and Circle (please correct me if I'm wrong) deserve respect (as they should show respect towards us).

But Bruce doesn't deserve respect, for he gives none, nothing but a troll.

Hyper, you said earlier that God doesn't punish ignorance. What if the ignorance is deliberate? What if they know what's right but they go against it for the sake of being against it?

Hyper, you said earlier that God doesn't punish ignorance.  What if the ignorance is deliberate?  What if they know what's right but they go against it for the sake of being against it?

Catechism of the Catholic Church:

QUOTE

846 . . . all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body.

. . . Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.

847 . . . Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience -- those too may achieve eternal salvation.

END QUOTE

In a nutshell: (1) The only sure way to heaven is through Christ's Church, if one is faithful to her teachings, including her moral teachings, and dies in God's friendship, i.e., in the state of grace; (2) God does not punish invincible ignorance; (3) others (non-Catholics of any sort, Hindus, Muslims, Baptists, etc.) who are invincibly ignorant of this revealed truth MAY achieve eternal salvation by obeying the dictates of their conscience.

But -- the God-given way to heaven is through His Church. Anyone who has ever been or ever will be saved is saved through Christ's Church, whether they knew it while they were on this earth or not.

Deliberate and knowing rejection of the Church is rejection of Christ. "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" Luke 10:16. Christ said this to the Apostles (and their successors), the leaders of the Church.

Hyper, just noticed the question was addressed to you personally. Sorry. Likos
