uruviel
I know I have kept y'all in suspense but here it is: http://www.lpb.org/programs/swi/streaming.cfm tell me if it doesnt work for you. I tested it but maybe something messed up. Anyway it is a video and it works best if you have something other than dial up but it still does work with dial up. It's super awesome i think so check it out. When you go to that website click young nun taking vows. or something like that . It isnt actually a profession ceremony but the website made a typo. It's the clothing ceremony of Sister Mary Agnes of the Annunciation O.P. (used to be Sister Marjorie aka chorusgirl on here). enjoy God Bless and Mary keep Karin
WOW Karin that video is amazing!! I loved it! That's awesome that they let the news casters and video camera's into the prossesions and monastary, it was such a beautfiul video, it was good to see you too, I enjoyed it so much!! Thank you for posting it
The broadcast gave me hope
Yes it def. springs hope in allll discerners! puellapaschalis
Jumping onto the bandwagon very late because it took me a while to learn how to convince my non-windows computer that it did know how and want to play a .wmv file.... that's amazingly beautiful. Karin, thank you so much for pointing it to us all (and lovely to see you and the other retreatant as well!). I'm going to show it to people I know here - the Netherlands needs more fidelity to vocations and this will help. Love and prayers, PP

cathoholic_anonymous
Speaking of nunly videos, here you can see a short one about Sister Mary Xavier of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus: Sister Mary Xavier receives the veil There is a transcript of the video available, too. I know this is not quite the same as seeing photos of a sister whom everybody knows, but it is still beautiful.

zunshynn
Oh my goodness, I only just now was able to see the video of Sr. Mary Agnes! That was so beautiful! Thank you so much for letting us know about it. How wonderful to see the investiture of a phamily member! (Even if she was here before my time!) That was so inspiring... I'm so looking forward to my own! And I think it's a beautiful testimony of the beauty and radicality of orthodoxy and religious life amidst a world that just doesn't "get it". I had really wanted to go visit the Lockport Dominicans before my entrance... But this I hadn't realized family couldn't attend there! Is that just because the chapel right now isn't arranged for outsiders to see? Or is that how they've chosen it to be? zunshynn
I don't know why this was never at the top after I posted.
brendan1104
The Sisters do have a public chapel- for Mass, Adoration, devotions etc. However the investiture ceremony for the Dominican Nuns is generally restricted to the community. That the investiture ceremony was on TV was very special- so it would attract (vocational) interest in the community.
