I also like St. John of Matha. But I'm probably the only person here that knows about him.

Oooh, I LOVE Padre Pio...he's one of my Mom's favorites, too. Such a holy and wonderful man.
It bothers me so much when non-Catholics accuse real stigmatists and servants of Christ like Padre Pio of "faking", et cetera :maddest: ...I guess some people just can't recognize true holiness when they see it. :saint:

Dont' get me started!!! On my rants about stupid people, oh sorry, I didnt say that. People are doing that selective ignorance thing I talked about earlier, some don't want to care, some are afraid to care, and some just don't care. lol. But Padre Pio did many great things, even if people can't recognize it, it doesn't take away his holioness :)

Hahaha...when I was little I practically lived on string coagulated milk. And graham crackers. :P:
When my Mom makes homemade pizza, I always steal a few pieces of frozen coagulated milk. It's actually really good. :biglol:

I get the same way...I talk to/debate with non-Christians and non-Catholics on other boards once in awhile, and it just saddens me so much when, like you said, they don't want to or are afraid to care, or when they beat on Mary, or the saints, or even His Real Presence in the Eucharist. I guess you could call me a thread-killer, because, when I do post defending the Faith and its elements, a lot of times, people completely ignore my posts and the thread dies. I have a feeling the saints in Heaven are praying over-time for those of us still on Earth!
And, of course, you're right...Padre Pio only needs the applause of nail-scarred hands. :applause: He's received his reward. ;)

i dont think i have a favorite saint

I can see how it might be difficult to choose!...St. Francis and St. Therese are very special to me because they are my patron saints. :grouphug: However, I have SO many saints that I love...they're all equally wonderful, just in different ways and for different reasons. They are all united by their holiness and their love for the Lord, though! :)

I know!! I feel bad for trying to evangelize because I just loose my patience and start being mean, but then I apologize, and then I confuse people. lol!! I always go into threads about non catholics or accusations about the church, I go in too hopefully that I'm gonna set them straight and they don't take anything I say under consideration they just reply with their beliefs and call me ignorant. I don't mind the insults but it really gets to me when they doubt Him or His presence in the blessed Sacrament, I can't just pass it up. lol. But when you go in those boards you aren't just killing them, despite their silence to you they are still hearing it and you are doing your part in exposing them to the truth, then we just got to pray for them!!
And oh yes the Saints love us and love to help :) St. Therese procliamed that when she said her work will not end when she enters heaven but she will send forth a shower of roses, aka her work in Heaven as well :)

oo those are SUCH wonderful souls!!!! You don't have to not include them in your favorite saints, you should always pray to them! JP2 and Mother Teresa are amazing, Tekakwitha is of course but I don't know very much about her, just from one book I read on her. The point is they are all so wonderful!

It is kind of hard to call them my favorite saints if they are not saints yet. JP2 and Mother Teresa everyone knows enough about and why they should be saints. Katiri Tekakwitha i know about because the church camp that i went to the past 5 years is named after her. They always tell us cool information about her there, I was going to work there this summer but applied too late.
