KatS
they believe that since Jesus has flesh and bones, he's not God.
But God can do anything, including incarnate Himself. The pagans understood this and filled their mythology with it. That's what cool about the Incarnation. Zeus (and other pagan gods) were just out covorting and making "conquests". But God sends an angel to Mary and makes a sincere request, so that He can save us. Sorry that was a bit off-topic.
missionseeker
if there were 2 jesuses which one died on the cross. And if there were two, how can you have ONE Savior and what about Christ (the annoited one) ? These people are confusing.
phatcatholic
i feel sorry for them. i mean, basically, they struggle with the mystery. they cannot understand how or why God would become man, and so they refuse to believe it, even if that means twisting the obvious meaning of the majority of the New Testament. we all struggle with the mysteries of Christianity. it is only "by grace through faith" (Eph 2:8) that we are able to believe in the Incarnation and in the divinity of Christ. so, we should not be so quick to judge them as "stupid" or "ridiculous." note also that, as Catholics, we stand on the shoulders of giants. they do not have the benefit of 2,000 years of Tradition, like we do. pray for them.
so true. it's hard to explain to them the trinity. i'm on this message board and i have muslims jumping in and backing them up and saying christ isn't God. it's hard when it's like 20 agains 3 catholics in this forum. it would be nice if FBC can back me up but the forum is in a foreign language. phatcatholic
yes, you have a rare and amazing ability to evangelize to these people when most of us cannot. you must be steeped in prayer as you attempt this. i will have the prayer warriors devote some special prayer time for you.
