rckllnknny
"if anyone else can answer me with answers that are found in the BIBLE i might get some use out of it." Why so rude? This isnt a sola scriptura board, I thought you wanted the Catholic answer. There is very little mention of archangles in the bible, even fewer that are cleary understood. They are usually just brief references which scholars later guessed were referring to certain angels. Most of what we know of angels comes from the writings and revelations of Church Fathers. "btw..quote...exist in exceeding great number, far beyond all material multitude.....means an infinite number. and st. thomas didnt write the bible." are you sure? and of course St. Thomas did not write any of the books in the Bible put together by the Catholic Church, but uh, he is one of the top 5 most gifted people ever to live and he did have a personal conversation with Jesus Christ before he died... sorry.. i really really didnt mean to be rude. but..lol..(but not the sola scriptura board but the 'catholic' answer??)..lol and im POSITIVE that it defines an infinite number. and of course a gifted person gets credit where credit belongs but we are all uniquely gifted for no man more and no man less. all the knowledge and wisdom can be found in the inspired book of God. p.s. a great exceeding countless number also reflects that of all the grains of sands on the beach. think about it. the earth is always settling and constantly shifting and changing. each grain of sand breaks apart into more grains of sand. you could never count the grains of sand because it is in constant process of multiplying. just like the hairs on our head as some fall out some grow in. you could never count them. thats how God knows. because the heart knows what the truth is. God bless. Edited May 29, 2006 by rckllnknny

KatS
I was kind of dumb and didn't know what to pick so I just kept my regular name Anna, so I guess my saint would be St. Anne.
That's certainly not dumb! She was the mother of Mary. (I think her proper Hebrew name was Hannah.) I also chose Anne because during our confirmation classes, our teachers encouraged us to choose the name of a saint based on our own name. I guess they were doing that to make sure that we wouldn't wind up with really really loooooooong names. Since my middle name is Anne, I also chose Anne. EcceNovaFacioOmni
Mary. Later my family told me that I was baptised Mary (that is not my name!) without their permission, the priest immediately after he had done it promised to put my real name on my baptismal certificate but was concerned that my real name might not be a Christian/saint name. Too bad my name actually has "Christ" in it!!
Ha! I was baptized with an ancient (probably pre-Christian) Irish name. At confirmation, I took St. Michael the Archangel as my patron because he is awesome.
