Tarcisius
does anyone besides religous ever start going by there confirmation name instead of there legal name? Ive wondered about this a bit and Id like to do it if there was ever a tradition of doing so. Also, For anyone that has seen any of my posts or knows that I attend an SSPX chapel, can you reccomend a patron saint for me If im ever confirmed besides St. Pope Pius X, that might suit me about me- 18, Live in Virginia, Freshman in college, future teacher at trad school, seeking wife asap, I mean as soon as the Lord wills it, affinity for helping children find faith, hence the teaching, also motorcycles, photography, issues with purity and drugs...lol maybe St. Jude. Era Might
Yah, he was a good friend of St. John Bosco. His two great characteristics were charity and love for the Church. He met every Pope from Leo XIII to Paul VI (Pius XII was the last one he met as Pope). He was actually summoned by Pope St. Pius X for doctrinal suspicion. After they met, Pius X told him, "Away you go, away you go, my son. What they say about you isn’t true!" From some of his writings:
It is not among the palm trees that I would like to die, but among the poor who are Jesus Christ.

Let no one, therefore, outdo us in the sincerity of our love, devotion, and generosity toward Mother Church and the Pope. Let no one outdo us in laboring so that the Church and the Pope may be universally known--their desires realized and loved. Let no one outrun us in following the Pope's directions, all of them--unreservedly and without complaint, eagerly and without hesitation. Let us give full, filial, and perfect assent of mind, of heart, of action, not only to what the Pope as Pope decides solemnly in matters of dogma and morals, but also in all things whatever they may be, that he teaches, commands, or desires. Let no one surpass us in showing the tenderest solicitude for the Pope, by sacrificing ourselves, and longing each day and each hour, to become living holocausts of reverence and tender love for the Church, and our sweet visible Christ on earth--the Pope!
