Theologian in Training
The Mass went quite well. It was an amazing experience, and one that you just cannot compare anything to. No matter how many times you practice it, and run through it in your head, it is completely different when you are actually up there, before the altar, saying the words of consecration. It's just....amazing.
Yes, congrats Father. Tell us all about your ordination ceremony.
Although it only happened only two days ago it feels like it was years ago, and seems so distant. I don't think it has fully sunk in yet, it's real and unreal at the same time. Hard to explain.
Mateo el Feo
Congratulations, Theo. I've been so happy to "know" you through your posts over the years, and I'm sure your priesthood will be a source of grace for the faithful in the years to come! Theologian in Training
Thank you to everyone. I have not yet gotten my assignment, I will find that out on Thursday...actually, come to think of it, he never gave me my faculties, but he did ask how the first Mass went. I guess I will get those when I find out my assignment. Hmmm...I should ask a priest (another one) if I can still do priestly things without physically getting my faculties... God Bless Fr. homeschoolmom
You've lost your faculties...? That can't be good. Sorry... just being silly. I have no idea what "faculties" are in this context.
Theologian in Training
BTW, a lot of people told me they never laughed so hard at the end of a first Mass. First, because I was trying to explain about the presentation of the manaturgent and said "when my mom dies." I did not realize how it sounded until it was actually out, so in an effort to "redeem" myself said "well, there really is no way to sugar coat it" only making it more hillarious for others, and more awkward for myself. Then, as I was standing up there thanking everyone, even though I had already thanked one of the priests my mom was forcefully mouthing the words to thank him, so I said "and, even though I already thanked him, my mom is insiting that I thank Fr. Tom, so thank you again Fr. Tom" It was one of those moments were nervousness and newness collided, but made for an entertaining end for the rest thanks again
You've lost your faculties...?
