missionseeker
did you ever think that it was odd that a preists clothes and Mass vestments were some of the most expensive but they have about the lowest psying job?
Theologian in Training
Very nice! I appreciate you sharing these details with us.
Actually, you will appreciate this. I received an anonymous letter, from a parishoner of my former parish. Turns out there was a former priest there, who was defrocked on his 25th anniversary for, as he says "breaking his vows" within the first year. He gave me some advice and whatnot, but what really stood out was his critique on my homilies, he warned that though it is not my personality to have more energy when preaching, and that I come across as "more mystic than shepherd, more monk," than even one of the priests there who is there who is a monk. I will take what he says with a grain of salt, not because of his comments, but because I don't know how much merit to put in the advice from a former priest
Lil Red
those are awesome!!! i would definitely take what that former priest says with a grain of salt. if the people here enjoy your homilies, and the people at the parish enjoy them, forget about it! It's nice that he still goes to mass, at least. I imagine he meant well. At least his feedback as a listener could be informative.
