jmjtina
ROTK was ABSOLUTELY the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean Eowyn fighting (remember the trailer when her brother is crying on the field holding someone? that should be in the extended version) and Arwen and Aragorn together.....ahhh and Sam marrying Rose Cotton! and Shelob and Faramir and Legolas  and Gimli and Gandalf.....I LOVE THAT movie!!! It was so cool cause Msgr. Danny who was visiting the Cathedral gave his homily and he talked about Tolkien. He wrote the book for his grandson (?) who was losing faith. I gotta find that book about his life....anyways, he wrote it for his grandson who told him he was losing faith in the Catholic faith. There is a letter of Tolkien wrote to his grandson telling him not to leave on account of one or two priests, or soemthing like that. (I was listening on the radio on my way to MY Mass and I didn't finish listening) Anyways, I think it was Tolkiens grandma or mother who converted to the Catholic faith. so all you die hard Tolkien fans *cough* katrina, cmom*cough* could you help out with that story? haha. :cheer:

Who me? Well.. I don't know about the grandson, but I do know that his mother converted to Catholicism after Tolkien's father died. (Which REALLY annoyed her Protestant relatives- they refused to have anything to do w/ her family after that..) When Tolkien's mother died, she sent Tolkien and his brother to live w/ Fr. Morgan at the Oratory, and she put a special statement in her will that said that her Protestant relatives were not allowed to try to convert the boys. ;)
