Hmmmm...it's hard to come to a decision on this one. On one hand, I am offended that they have taken the liberty of "modifiying" the nickel to be all PC about everything. On the other, I think we should move on to more important things. Like the border. Or lack thereof.......

But I do like the idea that the handed out stickers with the words on them so at least those children had a choice.

I was upset about this because it should have been a non-issue in the first place.

The nickels that each of those kids uses each day to buy lunch (okay, not each day, but you know they use nickels) have that slogan on it all the time. Why is it okay for us to show so much "charity" ("humanity," as Francis Bacon so aptly put the modern use...or maybe he defined it....) that we can offend anyone who likes the governments use of it.

I was offended because I feel that it was too unnecessary and plus, these are kids! I bet very few if any would have questioned it, especially if they knew what a quarter was.

The reason for the quarter was to commemerate the special year. What good is commemeration if we elect to cover up most of it? That's what's wrong with the quarter in my eyes.

It's trying to show a false sense of charity and also it implies a separation of Church and state that doesn't exist in the way these people want it. If you don't believe me, you should read a few speeches by the Presidents, going from Washington, including Lincoln, and now Bush. It's just silly nonsense for people to push their way, which is wrong to begin with.

Oh well, this is why we should be a monarchy.
