chris
It is but, the secular community has made it more than it seems. I know its a novel, quite a good novel. But, its the jokers who don't know what novel means that damage our christian communities. Now we have programs on the History Channel trying to prove this novel is in coordination with history and that the Vatican has been lying to us for centuries. It has sparked the actors of the movie to place disclaimers on the Bible saying that the Bible is all fiction. And if its only a lesser work of fiction why are our Bishops asking us to not see it? Sometimes rewriting history and claiming its fiction can still damage stuff. Whether its fiction or not. carrdero
I have read the book, and have seen this movie. And to tell you the truth, they are really not worth your money. Its personally a waste, the movie had true facts that Jesus was alive but the facts that they claimed were true could not be backed by a historical basis like the marriage and consumation of Jesus to St. Mary Magdalene. These issue are a farce to the Holy Gosples of God and can't even be proven. This movie and book is a farce and nothing more a mere rainy afternoon entertaiment.
There have been a slew of documentaries to correspond with this film. I just rented “The Da Vinci Code Decoded” which seems to unravel the mystery of the gospels and what scholars have discerned of the relationship between Jesus and Mary and how this corresponds to the history of the church. Very compelling theories in this documentary and a lot more interesting than the Hollywood movie and probably produced with a fraction of the cost. SinginForHim
Oi, so much hype about this movie. When I heard it was coming out, I actually didn't know anything about it, but now I feel pretty educated, seeing as our church has handed out flyers, etc, etc, etc... Um, as far as going to see it, I don't think I'll waste my money on it - not only because it presents lies (it IS fiction...) but because I just don't think I'd like it, it looks like a bomb...
