phatcatholic
I never noticed it before (probably because i'm always with my son in the cryroom), but before the Eucharist my priest said something to the effect "Find our/this sacrifice worthy to". What did he mean?
yes, in response to this the church says:
"may the Lord accept the sacrifice of your hands, for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all His Church.
in this we are basically praying, with the priest, that the Lord will overlook the sinfulness of the priest and accept the sacrifice that we offer to the Father: his Son, our Lord and Savior. it is an acknowledgment that no man is worthy to approach the altar of the Lord, and a plea for the Father to look at the worthiness of the gift, not the worthiness of the one who gives it.
