Thomas Michael
Maybe God sent Jesus to each of the other inhabited planets as well, born in the likeness of them, preaching the good news to them, and hey, maybe he fared better on some of the other worlds. Thus, while we Earthlings are subject to the Roman Pontiff, people on a faraway planet may be subject to the Klerbzelpian Pontiff or something. ;)
jasJis
I actually ponder on this often. If there are aliens, God is still God. Their relationship to God may be very different than humanity's, depending on their acceptance or rejection of His Grace. Jesus did not sacrifice Himself for just the Jewish people, but for all humanity. I think contemplating Mary is key to understanding how God's grace may work in their alien (to us anyway) lives. Mary did not sin, but still needed God's Grace to enable and keep her from Sin. No matter what we may understand or not know about their relationship to God, we can still rest assure that God's Grace is paramount. His Grace may have manifested itself differently to them, but that is only because of a difference in the circumstances of their History compared to ours. It's not such a stretch when you consider the manifesation of God's grace in the thousands of people who actually walked and talked with Jesus and us today. Their Historical context and knowledge is almost completely alien to us today, but God's love and grace is still eternal, present, real, and as neccessary. The image of God that we share with Him is not our physical nature, but our Free Will, worth, dignity, and Love of God we recieve. Are they really alien because they live on a different planet (continent) and have different skin, hair, or other physical nature? In God's eyes are they really alien, or just more uniquely loved individuals? See. We (I mean They) aren't really "aliens". :abduction:
