BLAZEr
Vigil masses are actually the mass of the Feast day. For instance, the Sunday Vigil Mass on Saturday Evening is actually the Sunday Mass. Kind of like the Jewish tradition where the Sabbath begins at Sundown the day before Saturday, in the Catholic Tradition the prayers for the Sunday day begin with Evening Prayer on Saturday. The same holds true for major feasts. The Vigil Mass for Easter is Easter Sunday mass, the Vigil for Christmas is Christmas day mass. The Vigil for the Feast of the Mother of God (celebrated on January 1st) is in deed the same mass as the Feast Day. I hope that helped.
