Hazilloe
your words are misleading. i am not being bullied into not stealing, because i believe stealing to be wrong and try not to do it. i am not being bullied into worshipping god, because i want to worship god. if this is true, i am being bullied into voting because i do not want to vote. is this worth leaving the catholic church over? some will probably say no, in fact, most of you will say no. but to me this is a huge deal. why can't i protest abortion by picketting? no, you can't stop there. can i convince pro choicers into being pro-life? no, you can't stop there. YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS. I KNOW YOU DESPISE REPUBLICANS AND I KNOW YOU KNOW THAT WHAT REPUBLICANS STAND FOR ON MANY ISSUES GOES AGAINST WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND WHAT JESUS CHRIST BELIEVED, BUT YOU HAVE TO. IF YOU DONT YOU ARE SINNING. i'm not standing for that. ever.
frozencell
YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS. I KNOW YOU DESPISE REPUBLICANS AND I KNOW YOU KNOW THAT WHAT REPUBLICANS STAND FOR ON MANY ISSUES GOES AGAINST WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND WHAT JESUS CHRIST BELIEVED, BUT YOU HAVE TO. IF YOU DONT YOU ARE SINNING. Who in the world ever said this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! What are you talking about?!?!?!?!?!?! I think what was said that it is morally wrong to vote for someone who is pro-choice. Voting is a sign of support. Voting for someone who pro-choice is supporting their agenda. A lot of the time in politics you must vote the "lesser evil" since very few politicians stand for EVERYTHING EXACTLY that you believe in, but if you want to lower the value of innocent human life to the level of welfare and government tax money programs then that is your problem! I'll pray for you because it seems to me you have your priorities a little skewed. And, yes, pro-choice is an extremely "politically liberal" stance. Hazilloe
no, what i said was that i do not want to vote republican or democrat. i don't want to vote. i was informed that that was a sin. that's where that came from.
Hazilloe
that's why i refuse to vote democrat. i do believe it's immoral to vote pro-choice.
PedroX
From Mrs Frozen Cell Actually, my deeply confused friend, you most certainly ARE sinning by not voting pro-life. The very fact that you would actually consider letting something like social welfare stop you from voting pro-life is most CERTAINLY a sin. Just for the sake of clarity. Also, please remember that this is Open Mic, not the debate table. I think we all might relax a little. Its been crazy around here the last few days. Is it a full moon? peace... Hazilloe
YOU SAID FULL MOON, YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A PAGAN. oh, i'm sorry. i've been talking to you people for so long that your uptightness is rubbing off.
Petrus
Isn't the date of Easter determined by the full moon?

Petrus
So most people don't think that Catholics are pagans. It is ok to use the full moon sometimes.
Hazilloe
what an uproar it would create if Catholics found out it was changed like that to correspond with a pagan holiday, so more pagans would come to mass. but then again, i'm not going to say that since everyone here would skewer me and eat my brains if i did. oops. frozencell
From Mrs Frozen Cell Just for the sake of clarity. Also, please remember that this is Open Mic, not the debate table. I think we all might relax a little. Its been crazy around here the last few days. Is it a full moon? peace... In defense of MrsFrozenCell: :D I also stated that to be silent is to condone. Not voting seems like saying, "You do whatever you feel is right." And abortion isn't right! And why would you want to remain silent on something that directly affects you, anyhow? To not voice your opinion you, in essence, allow for these types of things to happen which, in essence, means you don't mind. A more correct stance than just plain not voting is to put your own name on the ballot. Hey, it's a democracy and it's been done before. :D Not voting against pro-choice politicians = acceptance of their values or lack thereof. ironmonk
what an uproar it would create if Catholics found out it was changed like that to correspond with a pagan holiday, so more pagans would come to mass. but then again, i'm not going to say that since everyone here would skewer me and eat my brains if i did. oops. Actually it corrosponds to the Passover. But good qualities of pagan traditions were taken and made Catholic... why...? To save souls and bring them to Christ. That is why Christ's Mass was moved from May to Dec. It is very Biblical... 1 Corin. 9:19 Although I am free in regard to all, I have made myself a slave to all so as to win over as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew to win over Jews; to those under the law I became like one under the law--though I myself am not under the law--to win over those under the law. 21 To those outside the law I became like one outside the law--though I am not outside God's law but within the law of Christ--to win over those outside the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win over the weak. I have become all things to all, to save at least some. 23 All this I do for the sake of the gospel, so that I too may have a share in it. Do not suspend your faith brother... study... and learn. It is God that gives us right and wrong... It is the Church that He speaks through. God Bless, Your Servant, ironmonk
Hazilloe
i'm sorry, but for right now, i don't consider myself catholic. not if i HAVE to vote. silence is not consent all the time. silence sometimes means you feel that you disapprove of both. i will not choose the lesser of two evils, because, to me, they are both equally as evil. people that are already born have the same right to enjoy life as FETUSES do. frozencell
people that are already born have the same right to enjoy life as FETUSES do. If you're looking to vote for the perfect man then you might as well get your passport and leave for another country now. Also, if you don't agree with both then do something about it other than sitting around and spouting off that Jesus was a socialist becasue it fits better into your world view. Put yourself on the ballot. Run for office of some sort. EFFECT CHANGE, NOT COMPLACENCY! And for further reference, BABIES have the same right to enjoy life as people already born do, also. Hazilloe
oh my. you're so right. why don't i just run for president? no need to mention that you need to be 35. or a natural born citizen. so why dont i put MY name on the ballot? good point. why don't i? maybe because i can't vote. unborn babies=fetuses. i'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. i'm not calling them babies. i call little babies infants too. it's a stage of development. fetus. i'm being specific. you know, i love you. you know so much about so very little. i didn't think that was possible. Also, if you don't agree with both then do something about it other than sitting around and spouting off that Jesus was a socialist becasue it fits better into your world view again, you are so right. that's exactly why i think jesus was a socialist. it fits better into my...world view. don't stop and think that the reason why i'm a socialist is because i feel that jesus was. jesus was a socialist because i am. you're so silly, yet, so...annoying. and uninformed.
