Circle_Master
Now I hope you aren't saying Scriptures allowed to contradict itself. This would make it even more impossible to argue against Catholics and I don't want that to happen!

Luke2219
In regards to the readings for that day here is what my St. Joseph Missal says before the readings for "Holy Family". The following readings (exept for the Gospel) are optional. In their place, the readings for Year A may be used. On an interesting side note, I also noticed in my missal that on Christmas (the Incarnation) durring the Creed at the Incarnation (By the power of the Holy Spirit...and became man.) we were supposed to kneel instead of the usual profound bow. I'm very glad we discussed the 'sinks' and how we are to NEVER pour the Precious Blood down the drain. I've often been upset that there was even such a sink in my church. My mother is an EME and she told me that they were instructed to pour Him down the drain if they couldn't drink it. She's never seen or heard of it actualy happening thank goodness. But now I know it has a legitimate use. Being that Christ in entirely present in every drop of wine as long as it maintains the accidents (appearance) of wine, in the case of the linens this drain that goes straight to the ground seems very appropriate. We cannot possibly consume every molecule so I think this is a very appropriate soultion. Thanks for that insight.
Luke2219
Also, if I understand correctly, after communion and before ending mass, we can have some sort of appropriate announcement, talk or presentation. So, if the Precious Blood had been consumed, there would have been nothing illicit about the presentation.
cmotherofpirl
I believe images can be made. Images of 'spiritual' nature would be a no however, and images to be worshipped a no. An image much of the time for that period was a household idol for different purposes, it probably is dealing with that. I would not make an image of God, or attempt to either. That may be more from respect than anything though. About eating Christ's body and drinking His blood, Scripture seems pretty adamant about the restrictions on drinking blood. Even the apostolic church was against it, so if they really thought the wine turned into Christ's blood they were really (at least it seems to me) contradicting themselves. Here is the passage showing the apostolic churches conclusion - This is from Acts 15:19-20 and that is probably based off of.... And no, I wouldn't eat rare meat, that is one thing I won't do. I won't drink blood, or eat food with the blood in it (at least knowingly) THe prohibition against drinking blood in Genesis is because the Blood was considered sacred and contained the life force. WE consider it sacred in a different way simply because Jesus said so. "This is my blood poured out for you", "take and drink" And as we pointed out before we don't worship images any more than you worship a book( or do you?)
