Almost all the Bible, I missed a couple of OT books. I've read about a third of the Catechism... mostly for apologetics!!

You should read the Bible once a year. Catechism every time you feel you are getting fuzzy, or once every 2-3 years.

I've almost read the whole Bible: I'm finishing up the minor prophets right now. And I've read a little less than half of the Catechism. I have to admit that the Catechism isn't my favorite Catholic book. (Sounds bad, I know. ) I can't help prefering the writings of the saints. The Catechism is very helpful of course, though.

Funny you should mention it. I recently found this blog.

It has a 1-year reading schedule for the Bible & Catechism. They started in back in March. I've read a little, but got behind.

The schedule has usually one chap OT, One Psalm, and some NT, and a selection of the CCC for each day for 365 days. The schedule is a PDF...linked in the right column.

Its not really written as literature, to read straight through. Catechists and apologists should be extremely well versed in the Catechism. I don't see anything wrong with prefering the writings of the saints as devotional reading. When learning about your faith you should turn to the catechism as it is our norm for teaching and understanding the faith.

I voted less than half of both. I have read very little of the catechism (I got it a couple years ago when I was in the Newman club) and have read probably close to half of the Bible, mostly in the new testament.

I have read most of the Old Testament but books like Leviticus are just killers.

I have read the entire New Testament many times.

I have read the entire Catechism. When I got iit I was told to read it backwards. Start with the section based on the Lord's Prayer and then do the Creed. The Catechism is amazing. I highly recommend it.

I like reading the catechism casually.

Plus it is good to have around when someone attacks your faith. Good to be able to refer to it.
