let_go_let_God
I live in a highly blue area, but it is a really purple shade of blue. I laugh though, when the news covers what sections of the state are blue and what are red, southern Minnesota is pure red, northern Minnesota is completely blue, and it splits halfway through the state. *Shrugs* God bless- LGLG
zwergel88
How? Do you think they were trying to make people think Bush-supporters are Communist?
I don't know what they were trying to make us think, but somehow, such an obvious color reversal has to be a trick. Maybe they were trying to get Democrats to think they lived in a Republican state and Republicans to think they lived in a Democratic state. Then these people would think that their vote wouldn't make much of a difference. Thus, only people in swing states go out and vote. Lowest voter turn out ever. Guess it didn't really work. curtins
Im in a blue state with a republican governor who acts like a liberal. I wish I could move to Texas.
zwergel88
My governer is a Democrat and I guess he's alright but I really don't hear much from him. Like I have no idea what he's done or plans to do in PA. Kind of like how you don't hear much from the Mongolians.
I don't think it meant anything. I think blue and red were simply colors that contrasted with one another and looked good on a map. It was all explained right there on the map which color stood for which - it's not like anyone was lying about which color stood for which. And it wasn't a "reversal," as Dems and Republicans have not traditionally had "party colors." (Both favor red, white, and blue at rallies!) And people think conservatives are paranoid about the "mainstream" media!
zwergel88
you know, I think you're right about the parties already having a red, white, and blue color scheme. I wonder where they got that idea. Edited May 7, 2006 by zwergel88
Socrates
I'm conservative as they come, and I live in a "red" state, though we've had two straight Democrat governors now (in VA, govs get only one term). But the state went solidly for Bush the past two presidential elections.
