frozencell
I went to Confession two weeks ago after a long period in my life of not going. I had fallen away from the Church for a few years and was living sinfully. I had committed numerous mortal sins. I had these sins absolved. However, a few days later, I remembered two other mortal sins I had committed. (One may not have been mortal under the circumstances.) I forgot to confess these sins. I am going to Confession again tomorrow. Should I mention these sins, or have they been absolved? Thank you very much. (I just saw that I am logged in under my husband's name. This is actually MrsFrozen. Thanks again!) Edited August 17, 2011 by Lil Red
Pontifex
The stipulation about confession, is that we are one to confess all mortal sins, in number and in kind. I think without splitting hairs, it would just be safe to say that for your own peace of mind you need to confess these, and then be done with them. One of the powers of the sacraments is that psychological dynamic of laying it out there and hearing those words, You are forgiven. But, if the sins were not deliberately withheld than I don't think you are in a state of mortal sin. Peace, Fr. P
