N/A Gone
Just playing, I actually have a serious question for those of you that I have spent time talking with either on here on on messenger. My revertion story is interesting and has taken some time, but I am officially going under the Bishops hand this monday and I need to think of a confirmation Saint. When I was younger I picked Augustine(*before I got kicked out of confirmation class, but thats a different story) because I loved his theology and he has an issue with lust in his early days that a 16-17yr old kid could relate to. But now I am curious if I want a different saint. My knowledge of the Saints is not at the advanced level that I find respectfully in you here so I would like your advice. My traits to be considered would be that I am a big time face-face debator, often accused of being a doctrine bulldog(*as an evangelical and now also) I work in ecumenism for school and otherwise theodicy and soteriology. I had a name going for myself in the evangelical world before I reverted and my former mentors call me Anakin for being the choosen one, but going to the dark side. Thats a window of me, some of you know me better and I would be curious and very grateful if you knew a saint that I could relate to our inspire for and take as my confirmation name. btw, based on the choice of St. I would like to get a Pendant of that Saint
blovedwolfofgod
well, St. Iranaeus (spelling?) who wrote "Against the Heresies" is a good one. St. Athanasius was also a good apologist. But you may feel better with Augustine. He was the guy who got called into a synod as a priest, and the bishops sat down to be taught by him. Which isnt exactly common. I mean, I have Ignatious Loyola, cause he was a warrior gone teacher, and we relate... (despite the fact that the Jesuits lost their way)

Fulton Sheen Warrior
+JMJ+ You can't go wrong with the most Catholic of all writers. St Paul the Apostle. St. Thomas Aquinas. But yeah... Augustine's the man.
