Fulton Sheen Warrior
+JMJ+ Sorry Cam my OP didn't seem to show up. My original post was: I am beginning the Consecration to Mary (St. Louis de Montforts). In my diocese the permanent deacons are to make an act of consecration to Mary. When they make their act of Consecration they have some sort of ceremony conducted by a priest (or the Bishop). My question is: could I be consecrated by a priest? I know that if I were to go through the process and make a sincere consecration on my own, nothing would be taken away. Yet, if given the choice between a priest or myself...gonna have to go with the priest. ??? God love you, FSW
Theoketos
Yes, it would be best to be consecrated in this way by a priest, espcailly if you can find one with a special devotion to Mary. When I first did it I was at a summer camp with no priest around, so I did it myself...still valid. Make an appointent with your priest waaaaay in advance and it should not be a prob bob.
