How can Catholics miss mass?

^ To me, going to Mass is like going to Heaven, at least for a little while, because Jesus IS IN Heaven, yet he's also in the Eucharist... so in actuality we are in Heaven, when we're at Mass... it's so cool because when I am at Mass, I don't think about anything BUT GOD.. and it's just so great. :)

You should read Scott Hahn's Lamb's Supper.

I don't understand when one could miss Mass... miss the chance of Recieving the Body, Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ..... I know I don't ever want to miss that chance..

and I don't understand cuz these people went to Catholic High School and everything?

Why don't people have Faith?

I must pray for them. :(

Most of the reasons are:

I am too tired!
I stayed out too late
I have to do other stuff
I get bored!
Mass is so boring!

Yeah, that's mostly why.

I had to miss Mass last week because I was recovering from surgery and my mom wanted me to rest. I was also on painkillers due to aforementioned surgery and would not be able to pay attention or anything even if I did go. It KILLED me to miss Mass. I was crying because I didn't want to miss Mass. But surgery and stuff is understandable. I don't get how people can miss Sunday Mass (without a reason, like being sick, etc.) because God gives us 168 hours a week and He's only asking for 1. And Jesus is giving us His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. However, I don't want to judge anyone who does miss Mass and I pray for them

Dude, that killed me too! I had to get my teeth pulled and I was on pain killers and my mom told me to stay home. I was angry, but, it was probably for the best. It's not like you deliberately missed Mass. Sunday is a day of rest, God understands.

Lack of belief. Lack of faith. That's how.

I'm not judging because I don't go to Mass as often as I could during the week. I lack belief. I lack faith.

I am going to a youth conference at the end of May. I will be with protestants for 3 days, and amongst another 16000. I am strong in my faith, go to mass every sunday and some weekdays, and know I wont be converted. But the thing that is bothering me, is that I will miss Mass. I dont want to, but I will be 5 hours away from home and with a group of baptists.
Is going to this thing, and missing mass a sin???

And I hate hearing people saying they are "too busy" for mass. I mean COME ON! Its an hour of your life, you have 24 in a day and seriously people can squeeze in 1 hour a week for the guy who took a beating for us all. Gosh we live in a selfish world.

St Paul to the Romans

We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves.

8 If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother or sister?

Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister?

For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

11 For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall give praise tof God.”

12 So then, each of us will be accountable to God.

Heh, I feel terrible missing mass and I'm not even Catholic yet!
I just feel incomplete on Sundays without it. :)

I miss Mass sometimes... 2 weeks ago, I missed 3-4 days in a row, and I really missed recieving Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity... Glad that's a rarity!
