goldbug16
I just finished "The Man Who Was Thursday" - Chesterton. Brilliantly written, and oh, so much symbolism! Let's see....what now.... I'm going to start "Modern Times" - Paul Johnson, I've heard it's super good. Oh, and I'm also reading "Service with A Smile" - Wodehouse. Bloody hysterical. But then again, anything by Wodehouse is. philothea
Just finished reading (and reviewing) The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist. Posted a long review on both Amazon and my LiveJournal [link]. Quick version: fabulous book. Talks about what the rite of exorcism is like nowadays, what kind of training priests go through now, and what sorts of people need help. Both eye-opening and entertaining. TeresaBenedicta
Because I have the tendency to read too many books at once... 1) The Growth of Mysticism: Gregory the Great throgh the 12th Century by Bernard McGinn ((This is some background reading for my senior honors thesis I will be writing over the course of this coming academic year.)) 2) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte 3) And You are Christ's by Fr. Dubay 4) I Want to See God by P. Marie Eugene ((This is a wonderful book on Teresian spirituality that is founded in a series of lectures given by a Carmelite community to a bunch of college professors who wanted to more about Teresian spirituality.)) During the summer I have basically all day long to read, so I go back and forth between these books according to my fancy. I'm also continuing with my Greek, so I work out of a study book, but that's not really "reading" per se.
