I absolutely positively want to live in Dingle for some period of time... learn how to speak gaelic and fish for my food, plus it's the premier archaelogical site in Ireland (i am an anthropology major, you know)

if I had a ton of money, I would buy Shore Island in the Shannon River: http://www.vladi-private-islands.de/sale/s...%20Island.html#

could you imagine living there? raising your own cattle and fishing for food... :woot: and IN IRELAND no less!... now that is the life I dream about when I'm dreaming away from my dreamworld of dreams :woot:

well anyway, I believe I am going to scraggle up a bit of money... I think I could do it with $1000... and go live there for about a month.

meh, it's not that great

Uh, yeah. I always get the impression that residents of Ireland don't appreciate their homeland as much as the exiles do.

Noel's angel

lol!

But really, it's just the same as everywhere else really, except cold and rainy all the time. It's not some quaint medievil island where everyone speaks Irish, eats potatoes, farms and lives in castles.

I know. I'm really bummed out that the language has been dying out for so long. But it's still a gorgeous language. And I adore rain. And compared to Maine, Ireland is warm. Which is funny considering we're farther south, but anywho...

Having the man I adore say "love of my heart," and "I love you" in Gaelic does stuff to me. Real romance.

shucks;

in Dingle, they speak Irish, farm, and fish. it's very rural, one of the last strongholds where Gaelic is spoken as the primary language. ;)
