While the initial post may have been a bit too strong, I don't think any of us can deny that Dan Brown is a heretic whose disgusting slander of the Church is entirely out of line. What really bothers me is that there would be a massive uproar against Dan Brown from our society and the media if he had made such slanderous and ficticious accusations aganst any other religion. For ours it seems to be ok. >:(

You just hate me cuz I'm a trad.

#1 No one here hates you, more like at times "strongly dislike."

#2 We don't "strongly dislike you" because you're a Trad, we dont like you because of your mean and immature way of expressing your opinions. You will NEVER change hearts with your attitiude, you will only drive people away, therefore making yourself a reason why people reject Christ. Like Myles said, you need to know Truth, not just tote it as some sort of weapon to smite people who may not have been as fortunate as you to be raised with the Truth.

God is Charity(Love), we read the same Bible, look it up.

Dan Brown doesn't bug me. I even find his works mildly entertaining.

Same, I find them quite enjoyable for the sheer trash value. I hate it when people rank his works as great pieces of literature or start to believe in them.

Servant of Eve, the authors of a non-fiction book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" took him to court for plagiarism, but they lost the case.

I don't hate you at all. If you think that admonishing you for being uncharitable is hatred, then it's no surprise you don't understand the nature of charity.

We don't hate you, and there are plenty of trads on here who are cool, that's no reason to hate some one. But it isn't right to judge others and say bad things about them. Love is the only thing that leads people to love Christ and His Church. The Bible and many great saints admonish us to be kind to others, to not gossip, and to treat others the way we want to be treated, even when they insult us. This book is a work of fiction, that's the thing we have to keep in mind. Do I agree with it? No. I always have to clear up misconceptions about the Church and Christ to kids at my school and I do get attacked for it at times. But yelling at people, calling them names, and other things is what drives people AWAY from Christ and His Church. I converted to Catholicism, and one of the reasons was the witness of a Catholic friend who was kind and gentle and very strong in the Faith, but DID NOT call people heretics or anything like that. She was filled with love and I really was drawn to that. I really wanted that and two years later, I became Catholic. Love is what works, not hate.
