MissScripture
toughened up? northerners are whimpy and dramatic when it comes to a little heat... and sweat. it's not THAT bad... you just have to get used to it. i admit the first week or so is a bit uncomfortable. :
Hey! I resent that! I went camping last year in 98 degrees with 95% humidity, and I'm a "northerner" ...and yet, I adjust well to the negative temperatures, too...so Ha! :

Cow of Shame
Today was the first day in DFW that we hit 100+ degrees and it's also the day that TXU (our energy provider) declared a state of emergency. They're asking us to raise our thermostats to at least 78 degrees (are they kidding?!?!?) and to turn off all unnecessary appliances.
I didn't grow up with air conditioning....and it wasn't no 'dry heat' neither. Wusses. I would have killed for 78 degrees in the house during summer. It gives more reason to go down to the swimming hole! (note: NOT the pool, the water in the pool is warm, swimming hole=very very cold water!)
