Remind me why I'm going to be living in TX for over a month this summer. . . .

Why are you going to live here for a month?

One learned very quickly not to go barefoot on concrete

toughened up? :idontknow: northerners are whimpy and dramatic when it comes to a little heat... and sweat. it's not THAT bad... you just have to get used to it. i admit the first week or so is a bit uncomfortable. :P:
Hey! I resent that! I went camping :camp: last year in 98 degrees with 95% humidity, and I'm a "northerner" ...and yet, I adjust well to the negative temperatures, too...so Ha! :P: :idontknow:

We were stationed in Yuma AZ for 4 years..temps could be 115 and up in summertime. 80 degrees inside was lovely. One learned very quickly not to go barefoot on concrete

I rather enjoy the heat, as long as I am hydrated.

Wowsers. .. I never paid that much for electricity, even when I had a 2000sq ft house! And I live in Phoenix! Where we aren't afraid of the fires of purgatory, we live there! ;)

we have a broken or bent wire under ground that is making the-whatever that boxs is- spin really fast even when it's off, so we have to start digging this week and find it to fix it.... :pinch:

Cow of Shame
Today was the first day in DFW that we hit 100+ degrees and it's also the day that TXU (our energy provider) declared a state of emergency. They're asking us to raise our thermostats to at least 78 degrees (are they kidding?!?!?) and to turn off all unnecessary appliances.
I didn't grow up with air conditioning....and it wasn't no 'dry heat' neither.

Wusses.

I would have killed for 78 degrees in the house during summer.

That's kinda what I was thinking...

105 outside, 95 inside was always a nice temperature difference. :idontknow:

It gives more reason to go down to the swimming hole!
(note: NOT the pool, the water in the pool is warm, swimming hole=very very cold water!)
