franciscanheart
Texas is #1 on the list for energy use. And we're paying for it. Today was the first day in DFW that we hit 100+ degrees and it's also the day that TXU (our energy provider) declared a state of emergency. They're asking us to raise our thermostats to at least 78 degrees (are they kidding?!?!?) and to turn off all unnecessary appliances. This is crazy. dUSt
I contemplated not using my stove to cook dinner, but spaghetti without freshly baked bread just isn't... well... spaghetti with freshly baked bread.
missionseeker
It's not quite 100 degrees here yet. Almost. But why is it a state of emergency? Are they running out of energy?

Guest JJRandolph
What are Texans supposed to do? It's HOT down here. It's roughly 92 degrees in Houston but with humidity (which houston is known for) at around 93% it makes the temperature at least 100 easily.
