Era Might
Are there any biblical examples of this?
Fides_et_Ratio
Would Paul's example of the "altar to an unknown god" count? It was a pagan altar....
jswranch
Paul mentioned and praised the truths found in pagan worship ie "altar to an unknown god." We have no reason to believe he 'baptised' it. Baptizing requires the use of water and is reserved to humans only. I suppose the sprinkling rite or use of holy water could inaccurately be used describe someone bapizing objects. If someone claims the church authorizes '"Baptizing" pagan symbols' ask for a source. If they site some example, show what the catechism says. Mercy me
I can think of another example. The Pantheon in Rome. It is a Catholic Church. It is not biblical though.

It's a phrase used by Catholics when we "take over" formerly pagan things/events and give them a Christian spin. The obelisks and the Pantheon in Rome are great examples. We stuck crosses on all the obelisks, and turned the Pantheon into a church rather than a pagan sanctuary.
