Keyser Soze
On days like today, or Christmas...It really grinds my gears when you have those twice-a-year church-goers sitting behind you at Mass talking and giggling during the consecration. Had I no reverence myself, I'd turn around and ask them if they had any idea what was going on. The thing that grinds my gears even more, is that shortly after they file on up to the communion line and receive something they obviously don't fully appreciate and understand thinking they have just fulfilled their obligation for the year. A side gear grinder here...don't fuss, moan and sigh when father's homily is a long one! ESPECIALLY NOT FATHER PAUL'S...SUCKA! Feel free to add some of your personal gear grinders. Era Might
I hate when the sign of peace turns into a free for all. It's like someone just got home from Vietnam, and everyone is hugging him for dear life because they love him so much. Shake hands with the person next to you and be done with it. I always remember to pray, though, and ask forgiveness on those who defile Jesus because they are not in the state to receive

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
same beaver dam thing happened at the indult. We had a family in front of us that was so bad. the father took the little boy who would not shut up, out of the church, and the mother and daughters stayed longer. but they kept falling asleep. and wouldn't shut their mouths. so eventually they all left. DEO GRATIAS! no wonder, there was no discipline. some out of towners came too. they came wearing volley ball outfits. i guess they didn't know it was a TLM. one of their cell phones went off. he looked so embaressed pet peeves: Sandals women who refuse to cover their heads women who wear pants jeans shorts t-shirts kids that do not shut up Edited April 16, 2006 by Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
Tink
That is awfully narrowminded. Personally, I would worry more about people who swear on a Catholic forum than women who *gasp* wear pants. Edited April 16, 2006 by Tink
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
Wearing Pants has always been condemned by the Church, including in the Summa.
Reply to Objection 3. As stated in the foregoing Article, outward apparel should be consistent with the estate of the person, according to the general custom. Hence it is in itself sinful for a woman to wear man's clothes, or vice versa; especially since this may be a cause of sensuous pleasure; and it is expressly forbidden in the Law (Dt. 22) because the Gentiles used to practice this change of attire for the purpose of idolatrous superstition. Nevertheless this may be done sometimes without sin on account of some necessity, either in order to hide oneself from enemies, or through lack of other clothes, or for some similar motive.
